The company is formed in 1973 by Mr Liang Tee Seng and Mr Jimmy Liang Teng Joo. The company started by providing supply of industrial consumable hardware to electronic and manufacturing industries. In 1978, the company introduces new services such as industrial maintenance and engineering services to the manufacturing, construction, marine, and oil industries. With this expansion, the company needed to venture into sheet metal fabrication and now becomes a company specialised in aluminium cladding, composite panels and stainless steel architectural metalwork.

Presently, the company has grown and diversified into a multi-million dollar business with a work force of 35, which have experienced in servicing 40 major customers in all industries sector. The company has also diversified into high vacuum pump business as a local agent for ULVA Corporation of Japan, which is the makers of the renowned ULVAC vacuum pumps and components, vacuum gauges, leak detectors and vacuum equipment. In additional, the company also imports, pack and supply silica gel to both the local and overseas markets.

services include shearing, turret punching,
notching, bending, stud welding, welding,
panel Saw Cutting according to the customer's
requirements.

Auto Cad and CAD/CAM are also used in the
fabrication process.

6. Punching using 200 Trumatic equipment
7. Bending using LVD AGMS
8. Welding

The company has become ULVAC Corporation
local agent since 1985. These high vacuum
pumps are mainly used in various manufacturing
process like ion sputtering, chemical vapour
deposition, evaporation, coating and freeze
drying etc. The company does not only provide
sales and supply but also maintenance and after
sales services.

Lip Chee is also a major importer, packer and supplier
of silica gel in South East Asia region. The silica gel
is manufactured by the advanced hot-set process, which
produces extremely fine pores, which gives high capacity
of water absorption and polar solvent. These non-corrosive
and non-toxic silica gel beads is able to absorb 40%
water at 80% relative humidity at a temperature of 25
0C and can be regenerated and be reused without
affecting the absorption capacity. These beads can also
be regenerated several thousand times.

This silica gel is generally used for protective packaging,
drying air and organic solvents and Freons. It is also
used in selective absorption of various chemical
compounds and in catalyst preparations when impregnated
with active substances.
