Hot air ballooning in the hot air
of Thailand. In the heat of the day I would rather be inside the condo
with the air con turned up or sat by the beach with a cold beer. However
taking a hot air balloon trip would mean taking your own giant sunshade
with you.
I am always interested to receive
information about new businesses in Thailand. Especially when they offer
a 'new' product or a 'new' service. So balloon flights over Thailand I
had to find out more.
I was surprised when I first received the
information about the balloon trips and at first dismissed the idea as
just another daft farang with another daft idea about making a business
in Thailand. However on further investigation I find this guy is
serious. Hans Funk the Managing Director of Flying Media Co. Ltd. is
Swiss and his new enterprise offering balloon flights in the countryside
behind the seaside resort of Pattaya should be a huge success. There are
thousands of new and seasoned tourists arriving in Pattaya every day as
well as a home market of Thai people some of them who have more than a
little element of curiosity and adventurism. I think this business will
TAKE OFF very quickly.

Adventure tours and adventure travel in
Thailand is a fairly new concept. Adventure tour companies and eco-tour
companies already offer jungle treking, mountain bike tours, and white
water rafting. Well here is a way of having a safe adventure. I also
like the idea of being picked up from my hotel in Pattaya, taking an
exciting ballon flight over Pattaya and being returned to my hotel by
lunchtime so I can relax on the beach in the afternoon.
