Bangkok Companies Products and Services 2006
2005 has seen major changes in the operations of Bangkok Companies and the products and services we offer.
This year we are concentrating on the following::

Update and consolidate the existing records and contact information.

Use the database for the main purpose it was designed for that is for marketing, promotion of our training business ‘English at Work’ using the email contact information to promote our training services and secure a record number of new customers. We have secured training contracts with some prestigious organizations and companies: Federation of Thai Industries; Bangkok Hospital, Teleinfo Media (Yellowpages). And an increasing number of export orientated SME’s. We see this as reflecting well on the content and scope of the database.
Increase the data in the database significantly

Add New Categories

From specific requests by our clients we have researched and added contact companies and data to several new categories. For example we can now offer a sizable database of Taiwanese companies and Taiwanese executives. This has also meant a large increase in the industrial/manufacturing content of the database.
Add new data to existing categories
Financial data has now started to be included in the database. We have three new fields; Registered Capital, Turnover/annual sales and Number of employees.

Building and Construction - we have added a significant number of new companies. Architects, engineers, building contractors and property developers. We now have what we think is the most comprehensive database of this sector - and it is still growing!!
2006 – We are actively seeking strategic partnerships to promote our own and our partner’s businesses. A recent development has been the increasing number of enquiries from abroad through our website www.bangkok-companies.com with requests for data and product and manufacturer sourcing. During our on-line research we are seeing a rapidly increasing number of companies who are going on-line. Fresh data and new ‘company’ email addresses are becoming available. In addition many more Chambers of commerce and Trade associations are publishing on-line directories of their members. There is plenty of work to keep us busy for the coming year!

The contacts listed in the database are usually the primary contacts for
the company. Sometimes we have a list of the Board of Directors. More
often it is a list of the senior managers and senior supervisors who are
the main contacts in the day-to-day- running of the company. Please note
that where the full information for every company is not as yet
available, extra, new and updated information will be made available in
the monthly updates.
Categories
The database is currently searchable in over 400 categories See appendix
2.
Companies are categorized according to the products they produce, the
services they provide, the nationality of the parent company or
significant foreign shareholders, membership of Trade association or
Chamber of Commerce, or location.

At present the database covers the areas of greater Bangkok, The Eastern
Seaboard of Thailand and it’s environs including the provinces of
Ayuthaya, Chacheansao, Chonburi, Samut Prakarn, Samut Sakhon and Rayong.
For areas outside these regions see “Provincial Database”
Data Format
Bangkok Companies supplies contact data of companies and individuals
operating businesses in Thailand. This data is normally in the form of
an electronically recorded cd-rom containing files with the relevant
data. The files are in the format of the clients choice e.g. text
delimited, Excel, Access, DB4 or text delimitated. For smaller files
under 1mb they can be set by email.
Installation
We work with the client to install the data in the most suitable
database system. We recommend using the ACT database software which then
usually needs integrating with the customers own contact software, word
processing and email delivery systems. A useful addition is WinFax which
can handle multiple faxes from a mail merge feature inside the ACT
software. Security, access, networking and system back-up systems then
need to be initiated.
Interface Design
A custom made interface for the access and update of information can be
designed to suit the specific needs of the database user if the opt for
the option to use the ACT Database software.
Training
With a full database installation Bangkok Companies will conduct
training as follows:
A half day training and usage seminar shortly after installation
Individual training is given for key members of the departments using
the database in data sourcing, data upkeep and data entry.
Optional training is available in contact tracking and marketing skills.
Back-up
We supply back-up service as follows:
Re-installation of the database should the original data be lost for any
reason within 24 hours
Help line open from 8.00 am till 10.00 pm (excluding public holidays)
Updates
Supply updates to the database every month. These updates will include
new contact Companies (minimum 300 additional Companies per month) as
well as updates to existing records such as changes of address, new
E-mail addresses, executive contact information. Bangkok Companies
undertakes to work closely with our clients to provide them with the
most relevant and up-to-date contact information. With each update you
will receive an update request form. This form gives you the chance to
make comments and request the type of data you would like to see updated
for the following month. We also welcome special requests for additional
database compilation and will quote for these on an ad hoc basis.
Provincial Database
A comprehensive database of companies and contacts outside the Bangkok
and Eastern Seaboard areas This database currently has 5,000+ companies
with the same contact fields as the Ultimate Thailand Contact Database

Data Accuracy
Bangkok Companies strives to keep the databases as up-to-date as
possible. We do this by constantly researching the internet and by
interactive contact with companies held in the databases. We welcome
suggestions and comments about incorrect and “old” data. Bangkok
Companies however cannot be held responsible for any consequential
losses damage or liabilities arising from the customer’s use of the
databases.
Data Usage
It should be noted that all data supplied by Bangkok Companies is for
the sole internal and marketing purposes of the company or individual it
is supplied to. Service is on a single user basis and is to be used for
the sole purposes of the business named in the agreement and from it’s
premises shown in the same agreement. This data is not to be sold, lent,
or hired out in either print or electronic form to any outside parties,
agencies or companies.
Data and Privacy
The Database contains sensitive personal and Company information. This
data is used by Bangkok Companies and also a select group of companies
here in Thailand. We ask you and your staff to respect the privacy of
the contacts in the database and to undertake marketing in a responsible
and ethical manner. Ordering And Payment

We will run a duplicate check (some companies appear in more than one

We will send you a quotation within 48 hours informing you of the number
of companies in the categories you require.
Cost
A full database of 50,000 data records costs 40,000 Baht. This includes
installation, training and back up service.

FAQ
Can I source this data myself?
Yes - most of it can be found freely on the internet. Just visit trade
and association directories. Find the name of the company and then visit
their website (f they have one)
Now cut and paste the data into your contact management software eg ACT
or Outlook. If you have four years to spare and a dozen staff you may be
able to build a reasonable database.
Are your companies only in Bangkok?
Originally – Yes. When the database was first compiled it was for our
own marketing purposes. Only companies within a reasonable travel radius
were included. This was extended to the industrial regions close to
Bangkok. Nowadays we are getting requests for companies across Thailand,
so as we research certain categories these are included also.
So why do I need to buy this data from Bangkok-Companies?
Do you have the time or staff resources to source and compile your own
database? Maybe you have your own database of customers and potential
customers. Our data can be combined with your own to make the most up to
date and comprehensive tool that you need for your reference or
marketing needs.
How can I trust you? How do I know that when I pay you will ship the
data?
Trust is of paramount importance in business. This is difficult to
achieve initially with a first contact in the impersonal world of the
Internet. Our clients trust us to provide the most accurate and
comprehensive contact data for the companies they want to talk to.
Initially we send you a sample after your first request (usually 50-100
Companies) Only once you have approved these do we ask you to pay.
Can you guarantee I will make sales form the data you provide?
Absolutely not - no guarantees! However given the best tools available
and no more wasted time having to research prospects, well if you don't
increase sales then you need to find a new job!!
Payment
We accept payment by telegraphic transfer – sorry no cheques or credit
cards. Details will be sent with our invoice.
For files under 10mb we can do this by email (Please specify if you can
accept a file in zip format) For large files we will send on cd-rom by
regular post EMS or courier like DHL or FedEx For courier service please
advise your fed-ex number or alternately we will add $20 to the
invoice.
