Thailand Oil Companies, Thai Oil Industry
. |
Thailand Oil Companies are few and far
between. Foreign companies dominate the industry with the exception of
the national Thai oil company PTT who have the greatest share of the
domestic oil production, refining and retail distribution,
Smaller Thai companies concentrate on
specialized market sectors such as the manufacture of petroleum products such as
petrochemicals, lubricants and other petroleum based products destined
for domestic industrial use as well as a limited export market.

* The total energy
consumption statistic includes petroleum, dry natural gas,
coal, net hydro, nuclear, geothermal, solar, wind, wood and
waste electric power. The renewable energy consumption
statistic is based on International Energy Agency (IEA) data
and includes hydropower, solar, wind, tide, geothermal, solid
biomass and animal products, biomass gas and liquids,
industrial and municipal wastes. Sectoral shares of energy
consumption and carbon emissions are also based on IEA
data. **GDP figures from OECD estimates based on purchasing
power parity (PPP) exchange rates.
