The Thai music industry is alive and well. Whatever is your favourite Thai Music, Thai Lyrics, Thai Songs, Thai Country Music, Thai Classical Music, Thai traditional music, Thai pop Music, Thai Rock Music, loogkrung, loogthung, mor-lam, kam-muang it can be heard sometimes noisily around Bangkok.

On several occasions in the last month or so I have heard snippets from young folks about music. Whispered and sometimes not so whispered discussions of recording studios and music producers. Secret gigs and jamming sessions. Also in my inbox the odd email asking for a list of music production companies or recording studios. Are musicians finding a cheap alternative location to practice and record their albums? or is my hearing just getting better and I am listening more?

Two or three times a year I am approached for help with contacting a music company or entertainment producer. The last one was from "The Wailers" who wanted to arrange a concert in Bangkok. Another was an Irish drum band. I found negotiations tough. Finding the right contact was very difficult and the omnipresent Grammy Entertainment Group in almost total control. There are of course many smaller music studios and music businesses, we have an extensive list of these, but tracking down the best is still hard.
