Thailand Norwegian Companies, Thai Norwegian Manufacturers

. Thailand Norwegian Companies, Thai Norwegian Manufacturers are a pretty small group here in Thailand. However as part of the Scandinavian group of companies they do exert a considerable amount of influence. I don't recollect doing business with any Norwegian companies in Bangkok but I have bumped into a few Norwegian business people and also many Norwegian tourists who have traded the "Land of the Midnight Sun" for "The Land of Smiles"

My first recollection is meeting a guy from Norway at the food show in Bangkok a couple of years ago. He had a stand next to mine. I was selling tuna and he was selling smoked salmon. There was a permanent crowd around his stand to sample the delights of his marvelous delicacies. Unfortunately that left my stand almost constantly empty of customers as well as unattended by staff. My staff were around his stall

A further encounter with Norwegians was an unfortunate incident not too far from my condo on Jomtien Beach. Here is the news report: "Police and rescue workers were called to the Woaw’s Pub located on the main road leading to Jomtien Beach on Thursday Afternoon to deal with a foreign man who was threatening to jump of a 2nd floor balcony.

Arriving at the scene, Police saw the man, later identified as Mr. Nick Fischer from Norway on his balcony. He was naked and throwing items at passers-by on the street. Eventually a Norwegian Tourist Police Volunteer was called to the scene to negotiate with the man who was clearly in an unstable state. Eventually the man was distracted which allowed Police to enter his room and detain him.

Further investigations revealed that the man had changed his name and was originally known as Johan Grini and is the Nephew of Lars Grini a former Norwegian Olympic Ski Jumping Champion. Mr. Fischer is known to have a history of mental illness and friends confirm that he has no domestic of financial problems"

A very sad story of a man obviously who is mentally disturbed. The Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok was called. I hope he received the assistance he obviously needed.
