Satellite today announced that it has appointed Horizon Mobile Communication (HMC) as a service partner in Southeast Asia. The appointment made with the assistance of Australian Quadrant Communications Pty Ltd. |

Quadrant Communications Pty Ltd., a subsidiary of Quadrant
Iridium Limited, will allow Horizon Mobile Communications to join a growing list
of Iridium’s network of service partners to offer Iridium’s one global system
for satellite voice and data solutions for customers throughout Asia.
“Since establishment in 1999, our focus has always been on delivering
specialized mobile satellite communications and packaged IT solutions to meet
the ever growing needs of our customers. The Iridium service partner appointment
is testimony to our customer-focus, allowing us to extend our range of mobile
satellite communications services to cover the globe,” said Mr Dean Masters,
Managing Director, Horizon Mobile Communications.
Mr Masters said HMC expects to launch the Iridium product and service offerings
in late April and would particularly target shipping and international maritime
services, the oil and offshore industry, fisheries, leisure craft and yachting,
as well as the land mobile market.
“Based on our deep understanding of the need for satellite communications in
this region, we are confident that there will be significant demand for
Iridium’s products and services. We are excited about the opportunity this
provides us to service our customer’s needs more effectively,” he said.
As one of Iridium’s service partners, Horizon Mobile Communications will be an
integral link between subscribers and the global Iridium network, responsible
for end-user sales, activation and reactivation of Iridium service, account
maintenance and billing. The service providers selected as part of Iridium’s
distribution channel are closely reviewed and chosen based on specific criteria
including successful vertical market satellite communications sales history;
established 24/7 customer care capabilities; existing training on Iridium
satellite solutions and established distribution networks.

Southeast Asian based Horizon Mobile Communications joins Iridium’s network of

is assisting Iridium Satellite LLC in driving the re-launched services for
Iridium throughout the Australia/Asia Pacific Region. Quadrant Communication’s
role is to work closely with Iridium to sustain, support and expand Iridium’s
network of service partners.
