Company Profile: Keppel Land made its first foray into
Thailand in January 2000, taking a 45% stake in Five Stars
Property Public Company Ltd (Five Stars Property), a listed
company on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. This gives Keppel
Land majority control of the board of Five Stars Property. |

The purchase was made through private placement and rights issue
in Five Stars Property at 3 baht per share or about 297 million baht (S$13
million). Five Stars Property is now a debt-free company following the
enlargement of its share capital and restructuring of its borrowings.
To leverage on Keppel Land's established quality brand, Five Stars Property has
been renamed Keppel Thai Properties Public Company Limited (KTP).
Some of its assets in Bangkok include Jewellery Centre, a 34-storey commercial
tower in the Surawong area of the Central Business District and Sukhaphiban 3
Mansion, a 19-storey strata residential development at Sukhaphiban 3 Road.
KTP is developing 367 landed detached houses on a 8.2-ha freehold site off
Srinakarin Road, an established residential area in the eastern part of Bangkok.
The project will cater to the middle and upper income markets of Bangkok. It
will feature facilities such as a clubhouse and swimming pools. Strong emphasis
will be placed on landscaping to create an environment of lush and serene
surroundings.
KTP has also acquired a 12.5-ha site in the Watcharapol area, located in an
established good class residential enclave 30 minutes away from the Central
Business District. The project will yield 270 units of two-storey detached
houses, with 24-hour security ad various amenities targeted at the middle and
upper-middle income market.
Both developments will be marketed under the brand name 'Villa Arcadia',
depicting tranquility and serenity in its modern tropical designs.
