The company recently reached a new milestone in its development
by achieving ISO 9002 Certification from TUV RHEINLAND, the internationally
recognized German Certification Institute, specialist in the automotive
industry.
Lenso Wheel Co., Ltd. was established on the Wellgrow Industrial Estate in 1990,
to manufacture alloy wheels for the automotive industry. The "LENSO" brand name
is the leading alloy wheel brand in Thailand's domestic market and is also
widely popular for its fine quality, modern design and high technology
composition in overseas markets particularly in European countries, the USA,
Japan and Australia.
Managing Director, Mr. Nopporn Viraporn, created an original plan for the
company's internal corporate structure including management, production and raw
material procurement. The 5S quality management system was also introduced as
standard corporate practice and Mr. Nopporn's hands-on approach to operating the
business, including his astute business instinct and forward vision have all
been instrumental in guiding the company along a harmonious and industrious path
to success.
With the onset of the economic crisis in July 1997, Mr. Nopporn decided that the
only way to survive was to seek new markets overseas which involved much travel,
many meetings and negotiations against fierce world competition.
The company's successful inroads into the export marketplace is reflected in its
current production statistics with 65% of its total production bound for
overseas markets - USA (27%), European countries (17%), and the Middle-East
(12%), while the remaining 35% is distributed within the domestic market.
Besides utilizing the most technologically advanced production machinery and
updating it periodically, LENSO, ever since its establishment, has adopted and
complied with the recognized quality standards of respected foreign quality
standard institutes such as JWL, JWL-T, VIA, TUV, KBA. In addition, LENSO
received three top Australian quality awards : the "Best Wheel Award" in
February 1999, from the Melbourne Auto Salon, and "Top Judged Wheel Award" in
July 2000, and June 2001 from the Adelaide Auto Salon.
Keenly aware of the importance of the ISO 9002 quality management system, Lenso
Wheel adopted and implemented its entire operation in accordance with the
requirements of the ISO 9002 standard in October 26, 1998. A series of new
procedures were introduced throughout the entire production process and human
resource development programs ensured all staff became quality minded and
conversant with and fully trained in how to operate the new systems. At all
stages of the implementation, the company's internal quality audit team
continually monitored the new quality management system progress.
By achieving ISO 9002 Certification, Lenso Wheel Co., Ltd. demonstrates that its
production facilities and products, under the famous marque of "LENSO", meet the
highest international standards while letting the world know that its Thai
workforce, using advanced production technology is more than capable of
competing effectively in world markets. |
