Symix Computer Systems Inc was established in 1979 in the USA, to
build MRP systems. Following success in this field, the company expanded into
the ERP markets in 1986 with as Syteline ERP solution. In 1991 the company
listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange and in 2000 successfully transitioned into a
full service E-Business and integrated extended ERP solutions providers. In
November 2000, reflecting this milestone business transition, the company's name
changed from "Symix" to "Frontstep" except in the Asia Pacific region.
Worldwide, Symix has over 4,400 customers for the "Syteline" extended ERP
solution, plus more than 150 E-Business suite and 100 APS customers.
Frontstep commenced operations in Asia in 1992, from its initial base in
Bangkok. The company now has offices in Japan, China (three), Hong Kong,
Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia (two) and high quality business
partners in Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore,
Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and New Zealand.
