Mitr Phol Sugar Corporation Limited was founded in 1956 to
produce the white sugar that has been a company mainstay ever since, its rapid
growth a reflection of an industry on the rise. Two more mills followed: Mid
Siam Sugar Company Limited in Kamphaengphet province in 1973 and United Farmer &
Industry Company Limited in Chaiyaphum province in 1983. Then, to keep up with
growing demand, the company moved to expand production with the acquisition of a
sugar mill in Khon Kaen province which it later renamed Mitr Phu Viang Sugar
Company Limited, the fourth sugar mill in the group.
Today , Thailand is one of the top three sugar exporters in the world. The Mitr
Phol Group has been distinguished as one of Thialand's largest and most
progressive producers and exporters of sugar for longer than 45 years, during
which time it has played a leading role in developing the industry domestically,
at the same time taking calculated steps into the international marketplace. |
