Pan Asia Paper (Thailand) was initially established in 1991under
the name of Shin Ho Paper (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The Singburi Mill, the first and
only mill producing newsprint paper in Thailand, started the production in 1994.
Norske Skogindustrier ASA acquired major shares of the company in 1998 and the
company name was changed to Norske Skog (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
After that the joint venture between Norske Skog (Norway), the world’s second
largest producer of publication paper, and Abitibi Consolidated Inc (Canada),
the world’s largest producer of newsprint and uncoated groundwood paper was
formed, and the company became known as Pan Asia Paper (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
since then. Today Pan Asia Paper (Thailand) is the Asia’s largest newsprint
producer. |
