Company Profile: SAS is a consortium of the national
airlines of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The Sas Group includes
more than 20 subsidiaries and affiliates. Sas and subsidiary
airlines carry some 33 million passengers and 270,000 tons of

Operations to Bangkok were commenced in 1949. In 1959, SAS and
Thai Airways Co. founded Thai Airways International Ltd., with the Thai
Government thorough TAC holding 70% of the shares and SAS 30%. SAS supplied
aircraft, management and training to the Thais in order to build THAI into an
international reputable airline. SAS's 30% shareholding was released back to the
Thai Government in 1977, but the close co-operation has continued. Both SAS and
THAI are founding members of Star Alliance comprising of 14 international world
class airlines.
Today, Scandinavian Airlines operates 14 weekly flights into Bangkok; daily
non-stop flights Bangkok - Copenhagen with convenient connections to more than
100 destinations in Europe as well as daily flights between Bangkok and
Singapore |
