Under Prawn Crackers category alone, the company launched
4 different flavors under “Hanami Brand”: Original, Mexican Chilli, Hot
Chill and Garlic and Pepper Shrimp. It brings the company to be the all
time No.1 market player, capturing more than 70% of this category.
Another fighting brand for the prawn cracker: “Ruaypuan” is used for
upcountry as well as the Indochina market. This brand is so successful
that one can easily find Ruaypuan on every shelf in Cambodia, Laos and
Viet Nam. “Arsenal” is used for confectionary products ranging from
cookies and biscuits to wafer. It is regarded as not only the preferred
snack for oneself but the gift to the loved ones as well. The giving out
is done for many various occasions like season greeting, getting well or
engagement and marriage.
“Snack Jack” brand, on the other hand, is used for products produced by
“Hanami - Foods Co., Ltd.”, a subsidiary company set up in 1990. The
registered capital is Baht 60 million, almost fully own by Friendship
Co., Ltd. The brand image of Snack Jack is the healthy snack made from
peas or beans with high nutrition value. The company is one of the first
to introduce the use of Green Peas as well as Red Beans in the form of
ready to eat snack. It is well accepted among the teenagers and adults.
Now the Green Peas extruded alone come under five different delicious
Oriental tastes of: Original Green Peas flavor, Barbecue flavor, Thai:
Chilli Sauce flavor and Japanese: Wasabi flavor and Noriwasabi flavor.
The newly launched Noriwasabi flavor comes at the time Asian people are
in favor of the Japanese food, especially the Temaki and Sushi: a roll
of rice cover with or without Nori (the sea weed) with or without the
raw fish as the topping, but certainly with the Wasabi (Japanese
mustard) inside to bring up the original Japanese taste of hot up to the
nose. This product also brings you the Dietary Fiber, Protein, Iron and
Calcium, in addition to the delicious taste.
Most of the products are distributed by the company’s own selling force
throughout the country. They are sold through both traditional and
modern trade channel, from convenience store to hypermarket.
On the international front, the products of the companies are most
welcome as Oriental snacks in most Asian markets and many Asian towns in
various countries. Major export markets are namely, Hong Kong, Taiwan,
Singapore, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Australia, USA, Canada, England,
Germany, France, Norway, Sweden and Holland for example.
The expansions of the 2 companies now cover 4 factory sites with a
distribution center. The result of which is the assurance for prompt
delivery, under the EDI information system, of newly produced hygienic
products. Because the main concern of the companies is to grow in
quality and not only the quantity. The customer reliability is more than
proven, not only by the continuous support for almost three decades from
the distributors, but the most important of all, the brand royalty from
