GIS DATA Company Limited was founded in 1997 by
ESRI-Thailand to provide for the map and GIS data conversion and
creation including orthophotography, imagery rectification, and
precise image scanning services. As the main Southeast Asian distributor
of the world's GIS premier ESRI Inc. of California, ESRI-Thailand has
been involved in a wide variety of GIS works in Thailand as well as her
neighboring countries since 1989. ESRI-Thailand has successfully
established itself at the forefront of GIS technology with long list of
satisfying clients from governmental agencies and private organizations.
GIS DATA is also working on international projects for the United States
of America's National Imagery Mapping Agency (NIMA) and government
agencies at the state's county level.
Occupying over 25,000 square feet office in the central business
district of Bangkok Metropolitan with state-of-the-art equipment, GIS
DATA is presently employing more than 500 technicians working on
alternate shifts to meet the various projects' demands. Strict security
measure is maintained 24 hours to ensure safety for our client's data
properties. Work force at GIS DATA comprises a team of administrative
and project management staff, quality controllers, cartographers,
geographers, photogrammetrists, land surveyors, environmental engineers
and planners, computer scientists, programmers, and production

The latest computer mapping technology and systems are employed
at GIS DATA. Partnering associations with both ESRI-Thailand and ESRI-California
supplies strong technical connections and sharing of extensive knowledge
wealth. Core of the production system consists mainly of ESRI's ArcInfo,
ArcView, ArcCAD, QCView, PLTS and MPS (Production Line Tool Sets and Map
Production System). Imaging technologies with ERDAS software tools .
Feature extractions or collateral data can be obtained from aerial
photographs as well as high resolution satellite imageries sources,
using either monoscopic or stereoscopic capabilities.
Geoprocessing and analytical tasks are also our expertise to
fulfill customers' needs as well as other scientific requirements.
Software for raster to vector conversion includes ArcSCAN and R2V.
Autodesk and many business graphic programs are amongst the software
tools being used. Experienced programmers at GIS DATA have customized
many programs based on AML (Arc Macro Language), EML (Erdas Macro
Language), AutoLisp, or VB (Visual Basic) to facilitate the particular
production projects. Data deliverables can be specified in any popular
vector or raster format including ArcInfo, Shape files, DXF, DGN, DWG,
Geotiff, DTED, SDTS, …etc. Compressed data in MrSID output can also be
provided.
Data productions are managed by extensive network of computer hardware
and peripherals that include numerous Sun's Sparc workstations and
high-performance PC, printers and plotters, supported by multiple arrays
of large computer servers/storage. Data captures are performed with
multitude of digitizers, high precision scanners, and digital
photogrammetry. Works require field verification are supported by team
of survey experts using GPS (Global Positioning System), Laser Range
Finders, and pen-base computers for efficient data transfer directly
onto the production systems.
GIS DATA is definitely a one-stop shop providing complete turn-key
services ranging from control survey, data compilation verifications and
database development through final cartographic products to satisfy all
or any desirable sections of the client's project. Production process
for each project is individually tailored to meet its specific needs.
