Superblock is a lightweight Autoclaved Aerated Concrete block - a
construction related product, which originated from Sweden and gradually
improved to perfection by German industrialists, like Wehrhahn.
The first Superblock plant was set up in 1995 in technical collaboration with
Wehrhahn - Germany, and was operational in June 1996. The fully automatic 3
plant, set up at the cost of 700 million Bath, has a capacity to produce 900 m
of superblock per day, which give the company 55% Gross Margin in return of the
total expenses made for production.
The majority of the blocks are initially being consumed in Thailand only, as it
has been met with an unprecedented demand by the developers, contractors and
engineers, due to its easy workability and being economical to work with. The
plant spreads over an area of 58 Rai (approx. 23 acres), and is located in
Singhburi Province, Thailand. The plant has a locational advantage as it has its
own Sand mine nearby. Sand is one of the main ingredients of Superblock and the
reserved sandmine has enough resources which can supply sand for more than forty
years, therefore
reducing the cost of purchasing sand and the cost of transportation in this
regard. The other advantage being that the plant has easy access to the Port,
rail network in Bangkok and to the local highways and expressways, thus making
the access to the market and consumer in various parts of the country easier.
In order to meet the popular public demand for the product, Superblock recently
started producing panels, lintels and beams for walling, flooring, roofing,
covering door and window openings, etc. in technical collaboration

developers, engineers, contractors and the general labour force, and most
