The tradition of folk culture is still alive and well, with troupes
performing music and dance at frequent festivals, both in Libya and abroad.

tambourines, the ùd (a windpipe made of cane), the tablah (a hand-beaten
drum), and the lyre.

A coming of age dance. Solo woman in a kaftan dances with face & head
covered for a line of singing and clapping men. Vigorous; rapid up, two
side-side hips.
